In *Lord of the Forest*, I wanted to capture the presence of a wild Asian elephant standing quietly in its natural habitat. By focusing on a frontal portrait, I hoped to convey the elephant’s strength and calm dignity through its imposing form and prominent tusks.
Choosing black and white allowed me to emphasize the essential elements of shape, texture, and light. The elephant’s dark body rises against the grass and forest, while its direct gaze creates an intimate, almost rare moment of connection. This image is my way of honoring not just the animal’s physical majesty, but also its deep-rooted place as a symbol of India’s wilderness.
