This unique method of painting was taught to me in Hyderabad by a distinguished artist, Sri. U. Swamy. Acrylics are used to paint over a sandy surface to achieve a 3D look for paintings of sculptures, temples, and rocks. I won a 4th prize at an All India Competition for one of my sand and acrylics painting. There are very few of us who use this technique, so these paintings are very rare to come by.
