Description
Shringar is a painted sculpture depicting a woman delicately adorning her hair while looking into a hand mirror. Rendered in acrylics on sand, the piece evokes the iconic statuary of the Khajuraho temples in India. The textured surface and subtle coloration highlight the craftsmanship and cultural significance of this traditional motif.
Artist Statement
This painting was created for a competition in Hyderabad, inspired by the Khajuraho temples. I was drawn to capturing the delicate shadow effects and the graceful pose of a woman adorning her hair, while looking into a hand mirror. Focusing on these details allowed me to explore both light and expression, highlighting the quiet beauty of this moment.
