Wisdom In The Shadows

In this painting I have conceptualized the image applying the style of "Chiaroscuro" inspired by Caravaggio where Buddha's face emerges gently from darkness as though sculpted from quiet light itself. The half- illuminated golden contours suggests that enlightenment is not a sudden blaze but a soft unfolding from within. Here, Buddha is seen in rest between shadow and radiance. I have worked for three months to complete this artwork from January 2022 till March. I have studied Chiaroscuro a lot before applying on this dream work.
