Guardian of the Leap

I painted Guardian of the Leap after dreaming of Chimera figures watching over moments of irreversible choice. The leaping horse is the soul mid-decision; the fused guardian—part beast, part human—holds both fear and tenderness. I chose oil for its slow blending—like thoughts that refuse clarity. The surreal style let me distort anatomy to mirror inner conflict, drawing from echoes of Salvador Dalí. The subject became transformation: the moment before change, when instinct and reason briefly share one body.
