This painting is an exploration of Radha-Krishna—not merely as two historical or mythological figures, but as the dual nature of a single soul. By focusing strictly on the eyes and the tilak, I wanted to strip away the distractions of form and finery to capture a moment of pure, silent recognition.
The contrast in skin tones—the deep, celestial blue of Krishna and the warm, earthly gold of Radha—represents the union of the divine and the devotee. Their gaze is intentionally fixed forward, inviting the viewer into their shared consciousness. I chose to work on canvas to let the raw texture of the fabric peak through the acrylic, grounding this ethereal connection in something tangible and felt. To me, this piece is about the "Divine Gaze": the idea that when we look for the sacred, it is already looking back at us.
