Dhananjoy Das is a visual artist whose practice develops through observation, travel, and real-life experiences. Guided by intuition and spiritual connection, he often spends one to two years exploring a single subject and developing a body of work. Born and brought up near a river in West Bengal, his childhood memories of village life and boats continue to emerge in his paintings. His work has evolved from realism towards semi-abstraction, breaking forms to discover connections and new beginnings. He predominantly uses earth colours and natural colours, sometimes combined with acrylic and water-based media, alongside charcoal and ink. He believes that without God’s will, nothing is possible; we are merely instruments, expressing his will through our karma.
