Dr. Partha Sarathi Bhattacharjee

Born in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, Dr. Partha Sarathi completed his Bachelor & Masters degree in Visual Arts with 1st class 1at from Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata. He has exhibited consistently for the past twenty years both nationally and internationally. Partha has won several awards and scholarships including the AIFACS Award in 2018-19, 2022-23, award from Academy of Fine Arts in 2006, Nandalal Bose Award from Indian Society of Oriental Art in 2005, award from Rajya Charukala Parshad in 2009. Abanindranath Tagore award from Indian Society of Oriental Art in 2025. He has also been the recipient of the GCAC scholarship, (Ramen Roy Endowment) for the years 1997-98.
Partha’s paintings are luminous and soulful, an amalgamation, lyrical fusion of indigenous traditions and contemporary sensibilities. He sources indigenous ingredients made of natural pigments. Hence, the majority of his works feature traditional wash and tempera. The emphasis is on the idea that every work of art is a world in itself, capturing the creator’s emotions and aesthetic senses. Partha presents his art as a reflection of nature, eternal tenderness, meditative feelings with spiritual motifs from the everyday life.
