My art is a lifelong expression of resilience, observation and imagination. I create original oil-on-canvas paintings using my left foot, working across contemporary, abstract, figurative, landscape, wildlife, heritage and commissioned themes. I am interested in the relationship between colour, movement, emotion and space, and I often build compositions that can create a strong visual presence in both private and public interiors.
For nearly thirty-nine years, painting has been my daily practice and my primary language of expression. I normally spend six to eight hours a day developing my work, from smaller studies to large-format canvases. My inspiration comes from nature, architecture, culture, history, human emotion and everyday life. I aim to create paintings that are visually engaging while also carrying a sense of energy, dignity and hope.
My practice is also connected to a wider social purpose. Through the JD Foot and Mouth Foundation, I use my experience and professional art practice to encourage and support children with disabilities toward greater confidence and self-reliance through art.
