Banaras, one of India's most ancient and spiritually significant cities, has long inspired artists through its timeless ghats, temples, rituals and vibrant relationship with the River Ganga. The continuous flow of pilgrims, prayers, bells, chanting and ceremonial activities creates an extraordinary visual and spiritual rhythm. Reba Mandal interprets this sacred environment through her own artistic perspective. Her paintings of Banaras Ghats and the Ganga capture temples, boats, pilgrims, architectural forms and the changing light across the riverfront. Rather than merely documenting the physical landscape, she transforms these elements into poetic impressions of spirituality, serenity and human emotion.

My work explores the beauty of nature, spirituality and the cultural landscapes of India through expressive colours, textures and rhythmic forms. I am particularly inspired by the Banaras Ghats, River Ganga, Nandi and abstract landscapes, where tradition and contemporary expression come together. Through acrylic and oil on canvas, I transform familiar landscapes into emotional and contemplative spaces. My paintings are an exploration of light, colour, silence and inner harmony, reflecting my personal connection with nature and spirituality.
