As a freelance artist, Saroj Parmar has been participating in painting exhibitions since 2011. She has exhibited at Bharat Bhavan (Bhopal), AIFACS (Delhi), Jehangir Art Gallery (Mumbai), Mahatma Gandhi Kala Vithika (NCZCC-Prayagraj), Indian Academy of Fine Arts (Amritsar), Birla Academy of Art and Culture (Kolkata), Pelham Art Centre ( NY-USA), Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition (Taichung-Taiwan) etc. She has tried several mediums (water color, ink, pencil, pastels etc.) but mostly likes to work in oil. She believes that more than any style or ‘ism’, it’s important to strive to keep artwork’s 'soul' (inherent theme) alive.
